We're celebrating 20 years of Gründl Hot Socks

The names are part of our Hot Socks program. They close the circle between northern Italy, the region where all our socks have their origin, and the recreational area around Lake Garda. These are the places that gave most Gründl socks their names. Combined with bright colorways that reflect the diversity of Italy’s nature, we have made it our mission to conjure up a feeling of relaxation for all dedicated knitters while they knit socks. What is close to our hearts: quality. We know that knitting socks requires hours of handwork. On average, 20 hours are needed for one pair of hand-knitted socks. That deserves the greatest respect. With high-quality sock yarn that is both hard-wearing and soft, we want to give back only the best. Our secret recipe: a sophisticated blend of South American and German virgin wool - largely OEKO-TEX® certified, produced in compliance with REACH, and free from cruel mulesing. Sock yarn in harmony with the environment. Fairly produced.

As a long-standing yet modern family business with a passion for handicrafts, it is especially important to us to cooperate with companies that share our values. Here too, the circle closes, because our sock yarn is produced by a family-run company founded in 1946 with well over 100 employees. The company is located in Biella, Piedmont, a textile region known not only for its traditional sheep farming, but also as one of the leading centers for wool spinning, knitting, and weaving. Which of our confetti balls will you choose? Gründl party sock yarn is available as both 4-ply and 6-ply yarn. You can discover three different pattern effects in the 4-ply sock yarn - the 4-ply sock yarn comes in two different colorways.
Gründl sock yarn is also an absolute highlight as a birthday or Christmas gift. Because colorful confetti is already floating on the ball band, you even save yourself the gift wrapping. Great, right? ;)

Together with Hot Socks 20 Years, we currently have a total of 27 sock yarns in the Gründl online shop. From solid-color sock yarns and brightly patterned sock wool to sustainable sock yarns with recycled polyamide, we also carry especially soft sock yarn with cashmere and merino in our range. Or how about Hot Socks Simila, a sock yarn designed so that, thanks to a green marker thread, two identical socks can be knitted from one ball of sock yarn.
