The Hexagon Cardigan is a huge trend right now – and honestly: we totally get it. Because this project is simply fun. You don't crochet "endlessly in rows," but start with a hexagon – and suddenly, it turns into a crocheted cardigan as if by magic. With the Indian Summer Hexagon Cardigan, there's also the look: beautiful, rich colors like a late summer day – warm, vibrant, and absolutely lovely.
And because the cardigan should not only look good but also feel good, you crochet it with Merino Mio by Gründl: 100% extra fine Merino wool, soft on the skin, high quality, Made in Italy.
The jacket consists of 2 hexagons, which are crocheted together at the center back and over the shoulders up to the sleeve end. You leave the neckline open accordingly between the right and left shoulder, then adjust further. The best part: You can change the sleeve length and the length of the cardigan as needed by simply crocheting additional rows at the sleeve end or along the jacket edge. So, if you like to "go a little further": it's expressly allowed here.
The pattern is a hexagon pattern according to a crochet chart. The look thrives on the classic granny style with many color rounds. When changing colors, the yarn is cut and the next color is attached – this makes the color edges nice and clear, but: it also means there will be a few ends to weave in (it's worth it, I promise).
Easy to medium. If you know the basics (e.g., chain stitches and basic crochet stitches) and enjoy a repeating pattern, you'll get into it well. Without any crochet experience at all, it's probably too much – but as a next project after your first exercises, a hexagon cardigan to crochet is great because the rounds repeat and you quickly see progress.
