Together against loneliness: A Christmas card that brings a smile
Every year we design the green women's power sock, and this year Claudia from the knitting design team came up with an exciting pattern that is also a lot of fun to knit.
Thousands of cards, thousands of moments of joy - countless happy moments
What is "Post mit Herz"?
is a nonprofit organization committed to making sure lonely people are not forgotten during the Christmas season and do not feel forgotten. Its goal is to give these people new hope and joy through heartfelt mail. To do this, "Post mit Herz" connects volunteer card writers with social institutions that pass the cards directly on to the recipients. After registering, you receive the address of a social institution to which you can send your Christmas card. The staff there then distribute the cards to the people who will benefit most. This ensures that no one is left without a loving message at Christmas.
How to take part in 3 simple steps:
- Sign up: Register from 03/12/2025 at www.postmitherz.org.
- Receive an address:You will be sent the address of a social institution.
- Send your card: Create your personal Christmas card and send it to the address provided.
DIY tutorial: Christmas card with a crocheted heart
Give your card a personal touch with your favorite hobby: crochet a small heart to decorate the Christmas card.
What you need:
How it works
- 1. Crochet a heart - you can download our free pattern here and crochet it with either Häkelgarn 100 or Cotton Quick uni. In Christmas colors, your heart will shine especially brightly.
- 2. Attach the crocheted heart: you can glue it on or fasten it to the card with a thread, so it remains removable and can later be used as a pretty decoration.
- 3. Write your personal Christmas wishes or encouraging words. Let your card become a true message from the heart. Whether your own words, a Christmas poem or inspiration from the internet - the main thing is that your message brings joy and courage.
- 4. Write down the address, add postage and send the card - that is how easy it is to create your gift from the heart!
A big thank-you to all supporters
