What does changing yarn mean and when is it used?

Changing yarn – as in our case – is not only necessary when a new color is introduced into the knitted piece; it is also needed when a ball of yarn runs out or an unwanted knot has crept into the ball.

You can secure it with the middle finger of your left hand. Please note that you should also leave about 20 cm of yarn hanging here.
