Knit Stitch
Are you ready to knit with us now? The number of stitches you need for your first scarf is already cast on – you have also learned the correct posture for yarn tension. Wonderful – let's go!
Grab the needle with the stitches in your left hand and create yarn tension with your fingers and the yarn. The working yarn is behind the left needle. Hold the empty needle in your right hand. The goal is to transfer the stitches from the left needle to the right one.

How should the needle be held? How far from the tip?
To easily insert the needle into each stitch, the stitches on the left needle are now pushed a little towards the front tip of the needle. This is because the diameter of the needle tapers here. So you have enough space to pick up stitch by stitch with your needle – without unnecessarily stretching them.

Step 1: Insert into the stitch

Step 2: Wrap yarn around right needle

Step 3: Pull yarn through the stitch

Step 4: Slip stitch

What happens when a row is finished?
